Stunning results after training course

Willemstad – The management of Stichting WGK proudly looks back on a successful completion of the training course initiated by WGK Academy. 94% of the 100 nurses have passed the theoretical exam in the modules wound care and decubitus.

In June 2018, health personnel were given the opportunity to train themselves through e-learning courses in the field of wound care and decubitus. Decubitus are bedsores caused by a persistent pressure on the skin. These wounds are common for people who are immobile, such as bedridden patients or persons in wheelchairs. During the e-learning courses, the health personnel received information about the treatment and prevention of the various wounds. Nurses who have passed the theoretical exam continue the in-house training with practical training. The remaining staff will have the chance to resit the theoretical exam afterwards.

Together with Breederode Hogeschool, WGK Academy was initiated in March to provide training for the staff of the foundation and also to third parties. By providing education, Stichting WGK wants to guarantee the level of care and express the slogan "care with quality, that is self-evident and with certainty.
